2009 Quercus 4H Scholarship

A few weekends ago, my family traveled to the Iowa State Fair to meet our Quercus 4H Scholarship recipient, Brett Seelman. He seemed like a great guy with a wonderful future ahead.

Quercus awards a $500 scholarship to a junior or senior attending an Iowa or Minnesota school in a horticultural field for whom 4H played a role in their life. It is important for Quercus to give back to the 4H community because growing up on a farm in northwest Iowa, 4H was a huge part of my life. I learned many of the leadership, communication, citizenship and life skills that help me now in life and running a small business.

Quercus Landscapes, Inc. 4H Scholarship

Quercus Landscapes, Inc. offers a $500 scholarship each year for a student who has participated in Iowa 4H and is going into a horticultural field.

4H was a big part of my childhood and a major factor in the success of Quercus.
Congratulations to Brett Seelman from Iowa State University who is majoring in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies.

Quercus 4H Scholarship

This past weekend, my family went to the Iowa State Fair to award the Quercus Landscapes 4H Scholarship. Iowa 4H was a big part of my life growing up – raising animals, learning about horticulture, gaining a respect for our environment. Quercus gives back a little by awarding a scholarship for a 4Her attending college in an Iowa or Minnesota Horticulture or Landscape Architecture program. I really like doing it and this is our third year of awarding the scholarship.

This year’s recipient is Brett Seelman of North Liberty, Iowa who is attending Iowa State University.
