People are amazing!
Last Friday – March 27, 2009 – a group of 20 people from around the Twin Cities arrived in Moorhead, MN at 10:30. We were first instructed to head to Minnesota State’s Nemsek Hall in Moorhead where we found hundreds of people waiting to help. It was incredible!
The cities in the Red River Valley put out the call on Thursday that they massively needed help and requested 2,000 volunteers – by Thursday evening they guess there were around 6,000 people!
Our motley group consisted of landscape folks, bankers, nursery growers, building owners and good people who just took the opportunity to help. We signed in and were told the food and drink was around the corner. Confused why we were getting food before working we turned and saw tons of food and drinks. This was an impressive operation!
An hour or so later we loaded on a bus and
