Congrats to MNLA for their PLANET Awards!

2 11 2009

Good morning all!

Last Friday I attended PLANET’s Awards Banquet in Louisville, Kentucky where they present their Association Awards, Safety Awards and Environmental Improvement Awards.

The Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association received TWO awards that night. I am very proud of the work MNLA does for our industry. We received on for Association Partner of the Year for creating the website landlovers.org and another for Association Executive of the Year for MNLA’s involvement in PLANET’S Day of Service.

Great job to Bob Fitch and the MNLA staff along with all the organizations involved with MNLA!

Have a wonderful day!

QUERCUS NEWS – Emerald Ash Borer 5/21/09

21 05 2009

I sent our first “Quercus News” e-newsletter out the other day and got great feedback.

There are a lot of great information out to help you learn about this pest. For example:

Uh-oh, I have no idea what is going on. See here.

Do I have an ash tree? Check this out.

What is Minnesota’s plan for EAB? Aqui

How many ash trees are in Minnesota? Minnesota has the most ash trees of any state in the country. There are an estimated 867 million forestland ash trees in the state!!! That does not include the millions in our urban forest.

What can I do? Don’t move and firewood or any ash trees or parts.

Please sign up for QUERCUS NEWS and have a great day!

MNLA Tour de Plants

21 08 2008

Hi all – I just got some pictures from MNLA’s Tour de Plants bike ride to support green industry scholarships. I understand we raised a good chunk of change but haven’t heard the final details.
I’m not sure Jean and my little movie
Katy, Jean and I all rode – we’re in the green shirt – more specifically I’m in the green shirt pulling Jean in her blue and yellow bike trailer. She had a great time on a 23 mile ride through the lakes. We were tired at the end, but it was a good day.
Here are some other pics of the day.
Thank you to all that donated money!!!
