5 10 2009

Good evening!

Early IREM meeting tomorrow so I wanted to get Quercus News out tonight – you

Serviceberry in Fall

Serviceberry in Fall

can check it out before it is sent to our clients! This Quercus News has a little different feel than our last few newsletters. It is a tad more laid back echoing the fall season.

Hearts & Hammers 2009 Success!

28 09 2009

Can you believe how much we lucked out on the weather this year? Friday was wet and Sunday was blustery while Saturday was perfect!

Thank you very much to everyone who helped make Hearts & Hammers possible for ourIMG_1136homeowners. They are going to be so happy when they get home and see all we did for them. Here are some of our pictures from the day – click here for our gallery.

A special thank you to few people: Pat Haggerty from Marsden for all of her work as co-chair, Dennis Meadows for stepping in as our ‘Construction Guy’ on short notice, Wendy Madsen for her great leadership of the Community Outreach Committee, Ron Vantine for taking all of his pictures and to Kim Ihle, IREM President, for her continued support of Hearts & Hammers.

Thank you very much for volunteering and I look forward to seeing you next year for a great day of service for a family in need.

Best regards,

Brad Tabke, CLP

Hearts & Hammers 2009 House Details

17 08 2009

Good morning –

Last week was a big week for our Hearts & Hammers home! We got to meet the homeowners and see what work we will be doing for them.

Kenneth and Linda’s home is in great shape – they just need help with painting, some small construction projects and a little bit of lawn renovation. Seems like we will be in and out in record time.

Here is some shaky video I took while on site last week.

IREM members – don’t forget to sign up before August 21 (this Friday already!!) by clicking here and sending in your form.

Have a great day!

Brad

2008 Hearts and Hammers

22 09 2008

Thank you very much to all of our volunteers for your help and donations to help out a family in need!

Saturday, September 20 – about 55 people met in St. Paul to paint, repair and landscape the home of Bobbie Madison. I was in charge again this year for organizing the day along with Pat Haggerty from Marsden.

It was a wonderful day – we were finished by 1:30 in the afternoon with painting an entire house, landscaping the entire front yard and repairing a lot of siding and an old shed.

Here are pictures of the day!

Huge thank you to:

Our team captains – Chris Olson, Shasta Frandrup with Timberland Outdoor Services, Jennifer Johnson with McCaren Designs, Wendy Madsen with Ryan Companies, and Jeff Rosenquist with Rosenquist Roofing!

Our sponsors – Marsden for pressure washing, Curbside Lawn and Irrigation for the plant material and mulch and Rick Grobovsky from AMBE Ltd. for donations from Rosenquist Roofing, All Weather Roof, Dalco Roofing and Sheet Metal, Infrared Consulting Services, John A Dalsin & Son, KR Kline and Associates and Peterson Brothers Roofing.

Thank you again for all of your help and I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did!

Best regards,

Brad

IREM Hearts and Hammers

25 09 2007

Thank you everyone for your hard work at Hearts and Hammers. Again, it was a great day and I hope everyone had fun and is ready for next year!

This is the first blog I’ve posted for awhile…busy summer. Monday after we fixed up Helen’s house I went over to say HI and see how she liked everything and took a little bit of video of her so she could say ‘Thank you!’ to everyone.

For those who weren’t involved, Pat Haggerty and I organized a volunteer opportunity for IREM’s Community Outreach Committee. Hearts and Hammers performs community service for people in need throughout the Twin Cities. It is only work outside the home and generally painting, landscaping and any carpentry work that needs to get done. We went to the home of Helen Graning on Sept. 15 and painted her home and relandscaped. Helen was unable to be home when we were there because of a death in the family.

It was a wonderful day…started off cold and then warmed up perfectly for work outdoors. Here are some pictures and the video of Helen saying Thanks! is below.

Have a great day!

Brad

I received a letter in the mail the other day from Helen Graning, our Hearts and Hammers homeowner saying thank you for our work. Congratulations everyone on a job well done!
